For Christmas 2024, We had a truly wonderful time at our Relaxed Dementia-Friendly Carol Service this year. The event was full of joy and connection, bringing together our community in celebration.

We were honored to have Laura Fraser-Crewes, our new Lead Officer, along with Ian Sheriff from the Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance and David Fitzgerald give readings that added warmth and depth to the service.

A special thanks to Salisbury Road Co-Op for generously providing a wide selection of delicious refreshments, ensuring all our guests felt well cared for. We also want to express our deep gratitude to Debbie Bending of Memory Matters for her generous donation of 'fiddle-muffs', which were greatly appreciated by many and brought comfort to those who used them. Several attendees were delighted to take them home as a special keepsake.

The service featured a powerful and thought-provoking talk by The Rt. Revd. James Grier, Bishop of Plymouth and Chair of Trustees. He shared the significance of the crowns in Christmas crackers, reminding us of the King of Kings, before whom all authorities will one day bow.

A truly magical moment of the event came with the performance of the Salisbury Road Primary School Choir, who beautifully sang two Christmas carols. Their heartfelt performance filled the room with festive cheer, bringing tears to many eyes in the audience.

Lastly, St Jude's Church were very kind to host us in their building which made a warm and welcoming venue.
